Boris Markhasin
Boris has 28 years of experience in global investment banking advisory and technical roles at operating E&P companies. Previously he worked 14 years in energy investment banking at Evercore and Scotiabank as Managing Director in the Global Energy Advisory practice, where he advised on over $50 billion of A&D, corporate M&A, restructuring, and fairness opinions. Deal exposure in US, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, MEA, Europe.
In industry, he has 14 years with Marathon Oil Co. and Noble Energy in various roles in the U.S. onshore, Gulf of Mexico, Canada, Equatorial Guinea, Russia, and S.E. Asia.
Boris holds a Bachelor of Science, and Masters of Science degrees in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Calgary. He is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He serves on the board of directors of a Japanese cultural organization.
David Pantoja
David has over 20 years of experience in investment banking advisory, private equity, as well as at operating E&P companies.
He has 7 years in the financial sector at Citi, leading the International (Americas) A&D advisory practice, Credit Agricole and Scotiabank. His exposure included A&D, corporate M&A, ECM/DCM financing, and fairness opinions. Deal exposure spans on-and off-shore US, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Africa and Europe.
David serves as a Managing Partner in a Private Equity backed management team acquiring conventional EOR assets in the US. He recently worked as International BD Advisor for California Resources Corporation, and served as President of the Valhalla Investment Group (VIG). In industry, he has 13 years at Occidental Petroleum Corporation (OXY), Maxus and ARCO in reservoir engineering roles in Permian EOR, mid-continent gas, and Latin America.
David holds an MBA in Finance from Rice University, a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He is also a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Houston Energy Finance Group, and the CFA Society of Houston.
Randy Crath
Mr. Crath brings over 35 years of global investment banking advisory experience to Polaris.
Mr. Crath was previously at Evercore and Scotiabank where he advised many of the leading companies in the sector, completing over $50 billion of transactions including mergers, asset sales, takeover defense, joint ventures and debt restructuring. While a specialist in Latin America and global offshore, Randy has successfully advised on transactions in Europe, Asia, Canada and the United States onshore.
Randy Crath holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University and is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. He serves on the board of directors of the Prelude Music Foundation, and the All Nations Sports Academy Foundation.
